Two Steps Back

This is going to be a short post since I don’t really have much to add than my original thought. I was looking in a forum today and someone mentioned sometimes it takes steps backward to move forward, which got me to thinking, so I thought I’d share.  Most of us have goals, and dreams, and we have all experienced setbacks, but sometimes it’s the setback that is necessary for us to move forward. I emphasize the word “necessary”.

Imagine yourself trying to break through a locked door. Standing directly in front of the door you lunge forward and push, but the door doesn’t budge. Frustrated, you take a “step back”, and lunge for the door with the added momentum doing nothing more than hurting your shoulder. Now you take three or four steps back, run for the door, put your sore shoulder into it, an finally break through.

You can see it was “necessary” to take the additional steps back. Nobody likes setbacks, but sometimes they are needed for us to move forward, so the next time things didn’t go as planed, take a few more steps back for good measure, then give it everything you got to get the job done.  You’ll eventually get through.

Hey Daymon, how are you doing? I feel kind of disenchantment in your post , or?
Yeah steps backwards are necessary sometimes, other times you simply don’t have choice, life drives you backwards you want it or not…but what I did learn also is that you have to look around before taking these steps behind and break the door, because sometimes right beside the locked door there’s a path with no doors to close the road, which you didn’t even noticed before..
Take care and have a wonderful WE !
